  • I have a varied professional background having had to reinvent myself and my career several times to due to my spouse’s international transfers. My professional background is therefore varied and includes working with Oil & Gas, MNC’s, NGO’s and Government Organizations.  I have has a strong sense of multiculturalism and a keen appreciation of diversity having lived in several international locations (China, USA, Middle East, Asia Pacific & the Subcontinent). While in China I worked as the HR Manager for Australian Embassy (Development Corporation) AUSAID.

  • Ulrike Tagscherer
  • Position: Assoc. Professor, Dr. at The Chinese Academy of Sciences
  • Specialities: Analytical skills, experience in big organizations, intercultural understanding (China experience for 24 years) and everything that is related to research and development in China and Europe.
  • Since 2008 Ulrike has been at the Institute for Innovation and Systems Research and she came to China to strengthen the cooperation between this institute and the Institute of Policy and Management, Chinese Academy of Sciences where she has worked since late 2008. She has spent about half her time there doing research, including innovation systems research, regional innovation systems, innovation clusters, policy analysis and comparisons of technological competitiveness between different countries.  She would like to share her experience in career development and how to achieve what you want to have in life for yourself.

  • Previously Johanna was a lawyer who worked in both corporate and litigation roles. She then worked for several NGO’s including the United Nations. Now she is an entrepreneur, running two businesses in Beijing, one an import + retail venture and the other an immigration consulting firm.
  • Stacey Shine

  • Stacey has a Masters in Educational Psychology and has previously enjoyed teaching Art & Special needs and working in IT at Beijing City International School.  She worked as a tour leader and then operations manager for Intrepid and Peregrine, before setting up ‘The Hutong’ in 2007. She originally set up the Hutong as two person team, but has built it up to a large, dynamic and sucessful business. In this role she has worked in event management, marketing, accountancy, social media, management and motivator for all her staff.
