Women are still under-represented in STEM fields.
In fact, according to a study from 2018, they only make up 28% of the STEM workforce globally.
The inequality begins at school with girls at a young age losing confidence in their ability to do Maths in primary school and Science in middle school. The gap widens during university, and is continued and perpetrated by companies.
Our event this month will explore why so few women are represented in these fields. How can companies promote women in STEM jobs? And what does it take to be a woman in an environment which is still very male-dominated?
Our 3 guests all have careers in STEM and/or male-dominated work environments. They will share their experiences and challenges they face.
Due to the recent COVID restrictions, the event will be hosted online.
