Viva’s Inspired Women’s Series continues April 24th with a panel discussion featuring incredible female entrepreneurs who today are some of Beijing’s most recognized names.

We’ll welcome to our panel Paloma Sanchez, Founder of Paloma Sanchez Jewelry and Sarah Keenlyside, Founder of Bespoke Beijing.

Along their entrepreneurial journey, they have experienced considerable growth, changing market conditions, the arrival of new competitors and much more. April 24th will be an opportunity to hear their stories, share best practices and network with a range of entrepreneurs.

About Paloma Sanchez…

Paloma Sanchez is a gem hunter. Her never-ending hunt for unique stones has taken her all over the world. In each country, Paloma personally visits each mine, searching for stones that capture the unique character and geological heritage of that part of the world.  She is also a GIA (Gemological Institute of America) Gemologist, jewelry designer and founder of Paloma Sanchez Jewelry.

Before starting her own brand, she immersed herself in both retail and the business of luxury brands including Carrera y Carrera, Hubolt and Patek Phillippe.

Paloma Sanchez has been recognised as one of the thirty best jewelry designers in the world and featured in the “Unique Book, The Best Jewelry Designers” launched at the World Watch and Jewelry Show in Basel, Switzerland. In addition both Mercedes-Benz and Louis Vuitton each selected the Paloma Sanchez gallery to feature in their respective city guides of Beijing.

About Sarah Keenlyside…

Sarah Keenlyside moved to China in 2005 from London to help set up Time Out’s first English language publication. After seeing a number of visitors struggle to navigate their way around Beijing during the 2008 Olympics, she had the idea to set up Bespoke Travel Company (today named Bespoke Beijing). Initially a one-woman outfit, the business has grown to employ dozens of tour guides, experts, drivers and in-house tour planners.

Bespoke’s clients include everyone from Matt Damon and Metallica to corporations such as Apple, LVMH and Warner Bros.

Nominated in the Greatest Innovation/Disruption category of Travel+Leisure magazine-sponsored LE Miami awards in 2014, the company is widely recognized for its modern take on traditional touring.

Sarah was recently nominated in the Inspiring Woman Award category by the British Chamber of Commerce for the British Business Awards and recently named one of Conde Nast’s Top Travel Specialist for 2019.

About Jasmine Xie…

Jasmine started her first business at the age of 19 and is currently the Founder and CEO of Nova Universal, a creative talent and production agency based in Beijing, Hong Kong and London.  Upon finishing her undergraduate and masters degree within a span of 4 years, she decided to leave her own company to work in PR at Edelman London.  During her time at Edelman, Jasmine serviced clients such as Shell, HP, Nissan Paypal, Unilever and ASICs.

Jasmine returned to China in 2019 to co-found Nova China.  Jasmine has brought together an incredibly talented and experienced team who have executed campaigns for brands such as Sony Music as well as celebrity clients.  Nova Universal has also begun to create it’s own IP of which includes a bilingual webseries called betaCulture, which reveals the behind the scenes world of entertainment through the eyes of a group of millennial creative entrepreneurs.  The show is produced exclusively to be streamed on IQIYI within the Greater China Region.

Olivia is the Founder and CEO to Tianmi Bakery and Co-Founders of B.e.

Through Tianmi Bakery, Olivia is able to fulfill her love of baking and cooking while feeding and creating community in Beijing.  Through hand crafted desserts and family style dinners, Tianmi is creating a name for itself and sweetening life in Beijing one day at a time.

B.e is the company behind BlackEXPO, the successful and much anticipated market and cultural experience that customers have described as a “celebration of all things Black”.  What started off as an idea for a simple event in 2017 has since grown into a robust community with a steady following of over 1,000 attendees, businesses and sponsors, and it is just getting started.
