What is the Viva Mentorship Programme?
The Viva Mentorship Programme is a mentoring programme open to all Viva members. We pair our mentees with a mentor selected for their motivation and professional expertise. The Programme lasts for 6 months during which we ask the mentors to meet at least 3 times, preferably face-to-face with their mentee. This is unique space for mentees to grow and mentors to pass on and share knowledge.
This year we are launching a C-suite programme for mid-level executives who wish to develop further.
What is the process?
We will start selecting the mentors in November through a public call to mentors. These will be selected on motivation to pass on knowledge and professional expertise. The deadline to apply to be a mentor is November 20, 2020, 6 PM China Time.
We will then open the Programme to the mentees. Each can choose 3 preferred mentors. We aim to pair the mentee up with either their first or second choice.
We always ask for validation of the mentee by the mentor before the official pair-up. Official Programme to be launched in January. Viva is no longer involved in the Programme once it begins, though we remain available if any questions arise on either side.
How do I sign up?
As a mentor, please fill in this application form. We suggest all those motivated apply so we have a vast and diverse pool. We are looking for both depth and breadth of experience.
As a mentee, you will have to be a Viva member, so please sign up for membership here. You can fill in the form with your profile and list your three preferred mentors. All profiles are on our website.
How are we matched?
Each mentor fills in an application form with areas of expertise, fields of interests and achievements.
Each mentee also provides information and list of preferred mentors. We do our best so each mentee can have their first or second choice.
What is expected of me?
As a mentor: motivation, sincerity, willingness to pass on knowledge. You must commit to at least 3 meetings with your mentee. We provide support if you don’t quite know how to proceed.
As a mentee: openness to learn. We suggest you come with concrete goals and questions so the mentor can best help and address needs.
